Unciagroalimentare in ATS with the University of Ferrara promotes the Blu MaTer project.The program has as its objective the creation of a monitoring activity shared with professionals to trace a responsible model for the recovery and management of waste found at sea.The objective is to test, in two different Italian areas, the feasibility of adopting a single model for recovery, on-board management and land-based transfer and storage.Defining a single model on a national basis could be an added value for all boats that want to replicate the virtuous approach developed and proposed in the context of this project.
The case study to test the model to be implemented is located in two areas:A) GSA10 with the involvement of a sample of vessels of the Salerno Pesca Cooperative Society, to statistically represent the trawl fleet of the Gulf of Salerno.
The Campania fleet represents just under 9% of the national fleet, and is also characterized by boats of medium age;B) in the Po Delta area (Pila, Rosolina, Goro and Porto Garibaldi) fishing, as well as in the open sea, is also practiced in the lagoon, through the local fleet which over time has adapted to the various activities and types of fishing present in the areaRespect for the environment and the protection of the marine ecosystem represents a global challenge that sees Unciagroalimentare as one of the main players.
